Dr. Joseph Brier welcomes you to his beautiful dental practice in Lucas, TX. He was born to be a dentist, combining his passion for people with his love of medicine, problem solving, and working with his hands to take top-notch care of his patients. He has created an environment where people can feel comfortable, heard, and well cared for. He specifically loves general dentistry because he gets to develop lasting relationships with his patients over years, really getting to know them so he can provide the best care.

Dr. Brier grew up in central Missouri. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish in 2006 and worked with people with developmental disabilities in various capacities for 7 years. His goal was to treat his clients with dignity and to help them lead as independent of lives as possible.

He returned to school to pursue dentistry by first completing the Pre-Health Professions Post-Baccalaureate program at San Francisco State University. Afterwards, he got the opportunity to attend the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He graduated cum laude from Penn in 2017 with Honors in Dentistry for the Medically Complex and was recognized by his faculty with awards in the fields of periodontics and oral medicine.

In 2023, Dr. Brier achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), a designation attained by only 6% of dentists in North America. To earn this award, a
dentist must complete at least 500 continuing dental education hours, pass a rigorous comprehensive exam, and maintain AGD membership. Dr. Brier has taken advanced courses in endodontics, clear aligner therapy, restorative dentistry, removable prosthodontics, and more. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Brier’s life outside of dentistry revolves around his wife, Kate, and sons Sam and Luke. Together he and his family love playing games and sports together, as well as reading, traveling, and goofing off. He is an avid fan of the Missouri Tigers, Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Cardinals and is frequently spotted wearing team colors. He and his family have been a part of Gateway Community Church in Wylie for several years, and Faith plays a major role in their lives. He is excited to serve Lucas and the surrounding areas after practicing in Wylie for several years.
